Everybody wants to walk out of psychic reading feeling a thousand times more fulfilled than when they walked in. Unfortunately it doesn’t always happen that way – and it may have a lot to do with how you approach the experience. Your mindset and even your preparation can actually pave the way to ultimate satisfaction.

1) You’re looking for someone to give you the answer you want to hear. Whenever I meet a new guy, I always tell him that I’m not interested in a long term relationship. A lot of times the guy ends up wanting a long term relationship, and tries to convince me that I too want the same thing. Sometimes they tell me that they knew they wanted something serious, and they figured they could change my wicked ways. Ha!

This is a perfect metaphor showing why people don’t like their readings. I find that many times people come in feeling like everything is going to work out according to some stress-free plan. Unfortunately that’s not always the case.

A no B.S. psychic isn’t going to give you the fluffy bunny rabbit stuff you want to hear. Sometimes the answer you need to hear is stinky and hairy and quite ugly. A good psychic will tell you exactly what they see so that you can make informed decisions.

2) You didn’t choose a psychic with your heart. I don’t believe in choosing a psychic by comparing prices or looking at previous customer testimonials. A psychic should be chosen by feeling them out with your heart.

For example, do they make you feel comfortable when you talk to them? Do they have a similar background as you? When you read their blog or website does it resonate with your line of thinking? Look for the connection. If you don’t feel that magical click, then look somewhere else.

When you choose a psychic with your heart, the price will always be perfect for you.

3) You don’t think their advice applied to you. I gave a reading to my cousin last year. Initially I did a clairvoyant reading, and then I pulled a few tarot cards. The impressions I received were waaaaay off of her existing life. I was even kind of shocked at what I saw. So was she.

Suddenly – and I mean SUDDENLY – this year her life took a turn. Everything I saw during our reading started coming true. Knowing her previous situation, I would’ve never guessed that what I saw was coming to fruition. I mean it was like a complete 360 from what her life was like.

I learned an extremely valuable lesson from that reading. A psychic is like the person who works behind the curtain during a performance. With the light shining on you, you may not be able to see what’s going on in the audience, or even on the other side of the stage.

But a psychic has a different vantage point. They can see the other actors, they can see director, they can peer out and view the audience. Psychics have information that you may not be consciously aware of.

So it’s important that you not discount their information, even if doesn’t seem like it’s meant for you. Life changes can literally happen in the blink of an eye. Your reality today may not end up being your truth tomorrow.

I’ve had a love-hate relationship with the iChing oracle for over 15 years. I don’t use it anymore because I prefer to exercise my psychic ability in other ways.

But in the end I found that no matter the method – be it my own innate psychic skills, the tarot cards, or just reading the signs around me – I’d always run into the same problem that would further enhance that love-hate feeling.

The problem?

I’d get the same psychic message over and over again, while the actual situation would turn out COMPLETELY different.

Oh my gosh, I’d be soooo excited about a particular relationship (because the iChing gave me a good message), only to have the whole thing blow up in my face like some kind of exploding cake on America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Why was this always happening?

It’s called the Law of Seeing What You Desire. (I made this law up!)

When we have a deep emotional attachment to the outcome of a particular situation, we will often see that outcome reflected back at us during a reading.

If you’ve been craving that promotion, a tarot card reader may very well see you getting that promotion. But in reality it might pass you by completely.

The Law of Attraction showed it to you. Reality said - “Nope.”

How can you stop this madness?

Ask for the truth and be willing to accept it.

Whenever you’re getting a reading, or reading for yourself, ask the Universe to only show you the truth.

In other words, don’t go into the reading feeling like you’re going to walk away with the answer you want. Go in strong enough to take whatever is given to you.

And trust me when I say, reading these words, and putting them into action are two very different things.

Over the years I’ve had multiple situations where I’ve gotten an upsetting response from a psychic. Then I’ll go home and pull a few tarot cards, and get a positive response. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but the psychic always ended up being right.

Asking for the truth means that sometimes you’ll walk away with a big grin on your face. Other times you’ll feel like you’ve just been stung by a jellyfish, a scorpion, and a hive full of angry bee’s – all at once.

But when you make an active choice for truth, you are always enlightened. And that’s what you have to keep in mind.

Choose truth over a quick feel-good high.

Being in business for myself over the past 15 years has taught me a lot about the Universal Mindset.

One month I’ll have few consultations – just a handful smattered here and there. And the following month I’ll have 10 clients a day.

Likewise, for six hours of the day the phone won’t ring at all. And then during that seventh hour, the phones will start ringing nonstop. I’ll barely have a moment to breathe!

Just yesterday I laughed about this very topic with a client of mine who’s a career consultant. And not surprisingly the same thing happens to her.

One month she’ll get a dozen attorneys who are going through major changes. The next month all IT people. The following month everybody seems to be moving the California or out of the country.

Since I began giving readings I’ve noticed a similar phenomena.

I’ll do a reading in the morning, and pull the Ace of Wands as a center card (I normally pull three cards). Two hours later after thoroughly shuffling the cards – multiple times – I’ll pull the Ace of Wands yet again, as a center card.

Later in the day I’ll be doing another reading, and I’ll shuffle the cards like a mad woman. Without missing a beat that Ace of Wands will pop right back up as the center card.

In flexing your own intuitive muscles you might’ve noticed this too. Maybe the same symbol will keep popping up in your mind while you’re doing a reading. Or you’ll keep seeing the same word or phrase being mentioned in different places.

Either way, you might be wondering…

What the heck is going on???

It’s very simple actually.

Each Friday my daughter and I have movie night. She’ll pick a movie and I’ll pick a movie. We’ll make some popcorn and commence to snuggling on the sofa while watching our flicks.

For 3-4 weeks straight (at least) she’ll pick the same movie to watch each week. I moan about it all the time. But does she care? Ummmm NO. :-)

It’s the repetition that she enjoys. Children soak up information through the process of repetition.

And that seems excessive to most adults, because we tend to pay more attention to shiny, new experiences. But early on in our own lives, repetition is what made us who we are today.

So when you see the same card over and over again, two things are happening.

1) The Universal Mindset is kicking in across several seemingly diverse clients, at the exact same time. It’s just like when the phone is dead for six hours, and then rings off the hook during that seventh hour.

Birds of a feather are flocking in together. And the Universe is showing you that by giving you the same bits of information over and over again.

2) The Universe is making you a more proficient reader by repeating the same message. There are some cards in my tarot deck that I’ve only seen in studying during my free time. In other words, they don’t ever show up during my readings.

When a new card does show itself in a reading, it almost always repeats that same day. I’ve come to realize that the Universe is educating me on that card. Kind of like a foreign language teacher making you write new vocabulary words ten times each.

Though it’s funny because once a new card is added to the fold, I may not see another repetitive card for several months.

So the message for today is-

Learn to love repetition.

When it comes to you, welcome it with open arms. In the end, it is YOU who are learning from it.
